Golf Course Local Rules
Integral part of the course
All artificial surfaces, construction and concrete embankments, unless defined as water hazards or lateral water hazards, are integral part of the course.
The ball must be played as it lies or the player may deem the ball unplayable (Rule 28).
Free lift/relief without penalty (rule 25 - 1)
Through the green, a ball may be lifted and dropped, without penalty, within one club length from the nearest point of relief but not nearer the hole.
- All grounds marked with GUR.
- All young trees marked with blue stakes or paint.
- All marked Flower Beds.
- All washed away areas (usually caused by heavy downpour) of bunkers.
- Ball lying in a tractor/buggy track or if the ball is plugged anywhere on the course except
Movable obstructions (rule 24 - 1)
- Hazard stakes
- Yardage markers
- Hoops and ropes including their supporting stakes
- Stones and rakes in bunkers
Immovable obstructions (rule 24 - 2)
- Cart paths
- Electrical boxes
- Sprinkler heads and valves
- Pump house
- Lamp posts
- Drink huts
Embedded ball (rule 25 - 2)
A ball embedded in its own pitch mark through the green may be lifted, cleaned and dropped, without penalty as near as possible to the spot where it lay, but not nearer the hole.
Out of bounds (rule 27 -1)
Out of bounds are defined by white line or line of white stakes on the course.
Water hazards and lateral water hazards (rule 26)
Water Hazards are marked by yellow stakes. Lateral Water Hazards are marked by red stakes. Where a Drop Zone is provided, a player may play from the Drop Zone with a penalty of one stroke.
Desert course local rules
All Desert Areas are played as Waste Bunkers. Golfers are allowed to ground their clubs in the sand, even take divots on practice swings.
Golfers may remove loose impediments such as twigs, leaves, loose soil or stones. NOTE: Desert Plants in the Desert Area shall be played as the ball lies.
In the Desert Area, a ball may be lifted and placed, without penalty, within one club length from the nearest point of relief but not nearer the hole

- Washed away areas (usually caused by heavy downpour)
A ball in the desert area can be deemed unplayable, with a one stroke penalty, you may drop the ball within two club lengths of the point at which the ball last crossed the grass line into the desert.
Please note that the right hand side of Desert #3 and #5 are played as Sand Bunkers NOT Desert Area.
Golf etiquette
- Appropriate golf attire is required.
- Please ensure caddies replace all divots, repair all ball marks on green and rake bunker after use.
- Do not hit the ball until you are certain that the group ahead of you is out of range.
- Do not cause damage to the green by dragging your golf shoe.
- Please observe the 90-degree rule for buggies. Avoid severe breaking or turning, park as far away as practically possible from greens, tees and hazards.
- The course marshals have the right to take any action necessary to speed up play.
Siren signals
- Suspend Play : 20 seconds of continuous siren.
- Resume Play : Series of short blasts.
- Shotgun Start : 30 seconds of continuous siren.
Dress Code Policy
Men
- Denim (irrespective of color), workout clothes and collarless T-shirts are not permitted on the Course at any time. However collarless shirts designed specifically for golf, may be worn on the Course.
- Trousers and Bermuda length shorts must be tailored, and must not have elastic or drawstring waists, or cargo-style external pockets.
- Clothing with prominent slogans is not permitted on the Course.
- Golf shoes with soft spikes are required. Metal spikes golf shoes are prohibited.
Ladies
- Ladies may wear sleeveless and collarless shirts during play provided they are tailored.
- Denim (irrespective of color), cut-offs, workout clothes are not permitted on the Course.
- Golf shoes with soft spikes are required. Metal spikes golf shoes are prohibited.
